On Sunday Chris Miller & Jake Matich are donning their goggles, helmets & runners (not all at the same time 😉) for the @ironmanoceania 🙌

This dynamic duo are no strangers to competing in endurance races (or fundraising for us) & the Busselton half Ironman will see them dig deep to swim 1.9km, ride 90km AND run 21.1km 💪

These legends continue to impress us with the hefty challenges they set, the endurance required & their ongoing support as they fly the Kai Fella flag & fundraise to help us provide workshops & initiatives that support youth mental health in WA 🌈

Last Sunday @andy.swimming, a legendary ultra-marathon swimmer & mental health advocate smashed an epic 33km crossing from Rottnest to Elizabeth Quay to raise funds for @telethon7 & for research into Youth mental health at @perroninstitute.

His commitment & dedication to this vital cause & unrelenting willpower is truly inspiring 👏

After polishing off the first 20km leg of his swim, Andy ran with @davidmundy16 & @rogercookmla from Leighton Beach to Mosman Bay, before swimming 10km up the river to the finish line at Elizabeth Quay!

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with @safespacebusselton (BCSS), investing funds to further our shared mission of helping people navigate mental health struggles & crises, to ultimately save lives 🌈

Ensuring people have strong emotional support networks & access to help is essential when experiencing a crisis – which is why BCSS's free front-line service is crucial.

They provide a safe place for individuals grappling with their mental health to be heard, receive support & connect with trained suicide prevention peer workers who have their own personal experiences with crisis.

BCSS are Western Australia's first non-clinical, peer-driven service that offers 'drop-in' support, allowing people to connect through a mutual understanding of a meaningful shared experience.

We couldn't be prouder to collaborate with BCSS & work together to make a much-needed impact on those who are struggling 💙

Not only did the Redwings defeat the Camos in a thrilling game on the field, but there was great camaraderie off it, all in memory of a great man, Andrew ‘Mackie’ MacPherson💙

The teams' amazing efforts raised awareness for the Australian Sports Brain Bank and vital funds for Kai Fella, which will go a long way in helping us support youth mental health across WA - we're so very grateful 🌈🙌

Not only did she cross the finish line of the mighty 42.2km race but she also raised awareness & $2600 for Kai Fella! 🌈

It's World Mental Health Day, which aims to improv

It's World Mental Health Day, which aims to improve knowledge, raise awareness & drive actions that promote & protect everyone’s mental health as a universal human right 🌈

Good mental health is an integral part of our overall health & wellbeing, allowing us to cope with challenges, connect with others & thrive throughout our lives. However, poor mental health is a prevalent & enduring issue for young Australians, with the latest figures showing:

🔸Almost 40% aged 16 - 24 live with a mental health condition

🔸Suicide continues to be the leading cause of death for people aged 15 - 44

🔸Almost one-fifth of people aged 11 - 17 experience high or very high levels of psychological distress

🔸One in ten aged 12 - 17 have engaged in self-harm

It’s important to note that 75% of mental illness develops before the age of 25 & despite the troubling statistics above, young people are the least likely to seek professional help.

It’s vital that mental health is prioritised as a key issue for young Australians 🚨

We must all continue to push for progress, by challenging the stigma that continues to surround mental health & raising awareness of the urgent action required for education, early intervention strategies & effective, affordable & accessible mental health services & supports 💙
