Daniel Papaphotis, Treasurer

Audit Partner – Francis A Jones | Treasurer Kai-Fella Foundation

I grew up in Fremantle, attending local Catholic schools before studying at Murdoch University. After graduating, I joined Francis A Jones & Associates, a Fremantle-based accounting and audit firm. Seventeen years on, I’m now one of seven partners, leading our audit division as a Registered Company Auditor. I also hold professional qualifications including FCPA, RCA, FGIA, and GAICD.

In 2018, I had the privilege of helping our founder, Claire, bring her vision to life by establishing the Kai Eardley Foundation in honour of her son, Kai. Looking back, it remains one of my proudest achievements. It’s an honour to serve as Treasurer and support this incredible cause that is truly changing lives.

Mental health is a major issue in our society, and one I’ve seen impact close friends and family. I wish something like Kai-Fella existed when I was at school. The workshops we fund are powerful and real—giving young people the tools to speak up, support one another, and know they are not alone. Mental health is often the silent killer, and it’s time that changed.

Beyond my role with Kai-Fella, I sit on three not-for-profit boards, which deepens my understanding of governance, strategy, and the importance of mission-driven work. My goal is to help ensure financial sustainability and strong stewardship, so Kai-Fella can continue to grow and reach every school across Western Australia.

I’m happily married with three young children. As a family, we love the outdoors—spending time down at the beach, camping, and cheering on the mighty West Coast Eagles (despite once being a Fremantle Dockers member!). Life is busy and full, but I stay grounded in what matters: purpose, family, and connection.

If I could pass on one message, it would be this:

Stay true to yourself and invest in strong, genuine relationships. They’re the foundation of everything worthwhile.
