WORKSHOP FACILITATOR
Mel King is a husband, father, and a facilitator who believes that real strength isn’t just built in the gym—it’s earned through showing up, speaking your truth, and having the courage to support your mates. While he’s the founder of Athlete X, a gym dedicated to helping people reclaim their fitness, Mel’s heart beats strongest when it comes to building young people’s mental strength.
For the last four years, Mel has been a driving force behind the Kai Fella Foundation’s youth mental health initiatives. He’s been instrumental in shaping and delivering workshops across Western Australia that speak to young men in ways that resonate deeply.
As a facilitator, Mel leads bold, open conversations—discussions young men often shy away from—unpacking emotions, challenging outdated stereotypes, and creating real connections that matter. His approach is raw, relatable, and powered by the belief that honest conversations aren’t weakness; they’re the ultimate form of strength.
Whether it’s cracking a joke in a school classroom, standing strong in a gym, or talking about life in a footy club smelling of deepheat, Mel’s style is the perfect blend of down-to-earth and deeply impactful. He brings his own experiences as a dad, a mate, and someone who’s faced tough times and knows that honesty takes guts.
Mel’s mission is clear: to help people feel stronger in mind, body, and spirit, and to make sure the next generation of young men knows they are never alone in this journey.
