Lead Workshop Facilitator & Trainer
Rhett is an experienced mental health facilitator and program designer with over a decade of work across the education, sport, and community sectors. He has facilitated more than 400 workshops, reaching over 10,000 men and boys throughout Western Australia, with a focus on building emotional literacy, peer support, and mental wellbeing.
As a lead designer of the Kai Fella workshops, Rhett has played a central role in developing a program now delivered to young men across the state. His facilitation style is evidence-informed, engaging, and grounded in the lived experiences of the people he works with.
Previously, Rhett managed the Movember Foundation’s $40 million portfolio of mental health programs across Australia and New Zealand. His work has included partnerships with the World Health Organization, beyondblue, and leading academic institutions such as Monash University, the University of Melbourne, and the University of Sydney, spanning initiatives in suicide prevention, trauma research, and early intervention.
Rhett’s professional journey began in blue-collar environments before shifting into critical care and emergency nursing, working across hospitals and remote mine sites in Western Australia. This frontline experience sparked a strong commitment to prevention-focused mental health strategies at both the individual and systems levels.
He holds a Master of Public Health (specialising in Workplace Mental Health), a Postgraduate Certificate in Community Development, and a Bachelor of Science.
Outside of work, Rhett moonlights as a wedding celebrant, an oddball uncle, and a hopeless mountain biker—usually found lost in the bush with nothing but a hammock, a sleeping bag, and a bad moustache.
